A Wake-Up Call and a Calling
I’ve come to believe that modern America’s crisis isn’t political...it’s spiritual.
We’ve forgotten that freedom is maintained not by entitlement, but by effort.
Thomas Jefferson once wrote, “The cultivators of the earth are the most valuable citizens. They are the most vigorous, the most independent, the most virtuous.”
When I once again began reconnecting with the groove of the land, growing food, working with my hands, and the importance of living more slowly, I discovered that what we call “the homestead movement” is really a movement of restoration. It’s a return to God’s original assignment in Genesis 2:15: “The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.”
That verse is more than agricultural; it’s generational. It’s a call to stewardship — of our land, our families, and our values.
